The woman is 29 years old and she has two children. She cohabitated with her husband for 10 years and was during this time a victim of severe domestic violence. The woman was during this period working in the second hand market selling clothes and earning her living, eventually her husband forced her to stop this business. When the client came to the women’s center in February 2008 legal efforts to solve the problems between the husband and the woman had been conducted but without progress. The violence had during the last months increased to the extent of the husband locking the door to the house during nighttime leaving his wife to sleep outdoors. The client had decided to leave her husband and left him to stay with a relative. The women’s center helped her to find a permanent place to stay and through education and microloan she was also able to restart her business of selling second hand clothes. Now her business is going very well, she stays in a small apartment with basic needs without having to suffer from any violence. The clients still comes for regular visits and has a long way in front of her, but now she is able to see a future.
